The busy boys’ team won four games in a busy week; the women’s ring rolled 10-1

Hande's basketball team played five games as scheduled last week and was very busy. The Tigers emerged from Slate with four victories, improving their record to 6-4. Last week Hand won Branford, Hillhouse, Hamden and North Haven victories, but lost to Sheehan.
The Bengals scored a 70-48 victory at Branford on March 8, thus starting this week's game. Teenager Tyler Favre scored 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. This was Hender's victory in the game. Seniors Ryan Collins and Scott DeStory both scored 10 points, while freshman Kyle Hoffman contributed 9 points for the Tigers.
The next night, Hand hosted Hillhouse and won the game 59-52. Nick Donofrio contributed 20 points for the Tigers. Favre and Hoffman each scored 11 points in this victory.
Hande lost 55-42 on Sheehan the next day. Favre scored a major victory. He scored 22 points and grabbed 13 plates for the Tigers. Hoffman scored 10 points in the defeat.
On March 11, Hand defeated Hamden to a 71-50 home victory. The Tigers then ended their week with a 93-35 victory at North Haven on March 12.
Junior Danny Hilmer scored 21 points in the North Haven victory. Hoffman and junior Terry Adams each scored 12 points, while sophomore Hudson Jeramia contributed 10 points for the Tigers. Donofrio scored 8 points, junior Morgan Veth scored 7 points, and senior Mike Travisano scored 6 points.
The Hand Women’s Basketball team scored three victories last week and improved to 10-1 with only one game left in the regular season. The Tigers have won Lyman Hall, Hillhouse and North Haven victories in their recent actions.
Hand kicked off the week with a 55-18 victory at Lehman Hall on March 8. Junior Brooke Salutari won 14 points for the Tigers. Sophomore Natalie Lucas (Natalie Lucas) scored 11 points, senior Maddie Thomas (Maddie Thomas) scored 10 points, and junior high school Sophia Coppola (Sophia Coppola) scored another 6 points. Help Hande win.
The next night, Hand played a road race against Hillhouse, winning the game with a score of 48-35. Coppola scored 18 points for the Tigers and made 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Sophomore Coco Rourke won 9 points.
Then on March 12, Hand returned to face North Haven and achieved a 57-30 victory. Coppola won 16 points for the Tigers. Salutari scored 11 points, sophomore Maya Blomberg scored 9 points, Lucas scored 8 points, and Rourke added 5 points that night.
Hand played Guilford in the regular season finale on March 15 (after press time). Thereafter, the Tigers are scheduled to play in the quarter-finals of the SCC Division I Championship on Friday, March 19.
The Hand / Coginchaug / Valley / HK women's ice hockey team discovered that the originally scheduled game was postponed last week because the team entered the quarantine area due to possible exposure to COVID-19.
The Tigers were originally scheduled to play with the Amity-North Haven-Cheshire team on March 10, but the game was postponed indefinitely. The team's regular final against Law / ND-Fairfield / Foran / Weston / Pomperaug on March 15 will be cancelled. The Tigers have a record of 2 wins and 6 losses a year.
The Hand Boys' fencing team defeated North Haven in a solo party this week. On March 11, the Tigers faced North Haven (North Haven) during the trip and won the game with a score of 15-12.
Junior Sabre Fencer Billy Conroy won all his rounds that day. Young epee fencer Stephen Gentil and sophomore Jay Boyer also claimed to have won the victory for the Tigers.
Last week, Hand Girl's fencing team remained unbeaten in the game, beating North Haven. The Bengals played a road game with North Haven on March 11 and came out of the competition with a 14-13 victory.
Freshman Arianna Takyar is unbeaten for the Tigers' Epee team against North Haven. Freshman Anna Ferrucci (Anna Ferrucci) and Lily Paine (Lily Paine) both won twice in the hand saber team.
